Accepted as the symbol of Dublin, the Ha Penny Bridge opened in 1816. The bridge crosses the river Liffey in the center of Dublin. It has three lamps supported by curved ironwork over the walkway. Cast at Coalbrookdale in Shropshire, England, the bridge acquired its name from the toll paid to cross the river, which was one half penny.
