Hey Hey Bar And Grill

361 East Whittier Street
614-445-9512

The Hey Hey Bar and Grill was built in 1900.

During Prohibition, it was a speakeasy, one of the few well documented in Columbus (and there were lots!!)! The windows were closed up and the patrons said that they were playing cards! The gentlemen who brought the bootleg would always say, "Hey! Hey! The Beer is Here!" and they became known as the Hey Hey Boys! The name obviously stuck!
Susan and Timothy Gall own the Hey Hey now and established it in 1981.

They travel and do festivals- The Dublin Irish Festival, The Columbus Oktoberfest, The Dayton Oktoberfest, The Cincinnati Oktoberfest (Second largest to Munich's in the world!), The Circleville Pumpkin Festival, and sometimes more! They usually sell Potato Pancakes, their famous Sauerkraut Balls, Cabbage and Noodles, Chicken and Noodles, and Limburger Cheese Sandwiches! The famous Sauerkraut Balls were featured in "MidWest Living Magazine" and are always available at the Hey Hey! Regular, Jalapeno, Veggie, or Vegan!
