Jackson Hole (trapperese for Jackson's Valley), named after surveyor Davy Jackson, is an incredibly beautiful valley surrounded by tremendous snow covered mountains. In the mid-1960's Jackson Hole Mountain Resort developed of one of these mountains to create 2,500 acres of some of the best snow skiing terrain in the world.

The Mangy Moose opened for business at the base of this new ski resort in 1967 and soon became a favorite of visitors and locals alike. A four-story addition to house the new Saloon, RMO Cafe and retail shops was completed in 1987.
Current owners David Yoder and Jeff Davies purchased the property in 2001 and thoroughly renovated the building while keeping the traditional comfortable feeling of the nearly 30,000 sq. foot building.The world-famous Mangy Moose will continue to improve but will always be a fun place to visit, enjoy a drinks and a good meal, shop and hear great live music.
